MinAgricultura anuncia congelación de precios de más de 600 alimentos entre diciembre y enero de 2018
Con el objetivo de que los colombianos prefieran los productos que se cosechan en el campo, el Ministro de Agricultura y Desarrollo Rural, Juan Guillermo Zuluaga, anunció el tan esperado beneficio para los bolsillos de los consumidores y las amas de casa, la congelación de precios de alimentos en nueve centrales de abastos del país.
Según explicó el Ministro de Agricultura, “Este es un acuerdo voluntario de las centrales de abastos del país y un regalo de navidad para quienes prefieren al campo colombiano en la mesa, para ello, entre el 15 de diciembre y el 15 de enero de 2018, encontrarán más de 600 productos que tendrán congelación de precios”, dijo. Se beneficiarán productos como granos, procesados y carnes de pollo, res y pescado.
Los principales alimentos de la canasta familiar que cuentan con esta congelación de precios los podrá ubicar, referenciados en listados, en el Nuevo Mercado de Sincelejo, en la Corporación de Abastecimientos del Valle del Cauca (Cavasa), en la Central Mayorista de Alimentos Mercasa de Pereira, en Corabastos de Bogotá, en la Gran Central de Abastos del Caribe en Barranquilla, en Surabastos en Neiva, en Cenabastos en Cúcuta, en la Central de Abastos de Villavicencio y en la Central de Abastos de Bucaramanga.
Con este tipo de iniciativas, ha indicado el jefe de la cartera agropecuaria, se propicia una mayor oferta y el ingreso de más alimentos a las centrales de abastos. Por ejemplo, normalmente un martes en Corabastos, la mayor central del país, ingresan en promedio siete mil toneladas de productos, y hoy el promedio de temporada de fin de año está en más de 10.000 toneladas.
Igualmente, el Ministro Zuluaga indicó que con estas acciones se le pone coto a la inflación, que por tercer mes consecutivo ha mostrado una caída en los precios de alimentos.
De acuerdo con el informe del DANE, en noviembre de 2017 la variación mensual del índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC) fue 0,18%, la de año corrido (enero – noviembre de 2017) de 3,69% y la de doce meses (diciembre 2016 – noviembre
2017) de 4,12%. En el caso de alimentos este gasto presentó la segunda menor variación mensual con 0,06% en noviembre, año corrido con 1,72% y doce meses de 2,52%.
Según explicó el ministro de Agricultura y Desarrollo Rural, Juan Guillermo Zuluaga, «desde julio de 2016 ya no somos los que jalonamos el incremento de la inflación, cuando vimos un alza en los precios impulsada por los efectos del Fenómeno de El Niño y el paro camionero. Hoy gracias al aumento de la producción encontramos que alimentos como hortalizas, verduras, legumbres y frutas pueden encontrarse a menor costo para el bolsillo de las amas de casa».
